Dream 11 to sponsor IPL 2020: Wins IPL sponsorship for 222 crores
Dream 11 is the IPL title sponsorship for the year 2020. Indian premier league(IPL) is going to be held in the United Arab Emirates(UAE) from September to November.
Brijesh Patel IPL Governing council chairman announced that Dream11 is the title sponsor of the 2020 IPL and is expected to pay Rs 222 crore for the sponsorship. Dream 11 has replaced Vivo as the title sponsor for the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL). Vivo used to pay Rs 440 crore/year which is double the amount paid by Dream 11.
“In the given circumstances, we are happy with the deal. These rights are only for four months and only for this edition of the IPL,” IPL chairman Brijesh Patel said.
For the title sponsorship, several other bidders also participated in which Unacademy which made a bid of Rs 210 crore, the Tata group, which made a bid of Rs 180 crore, and Byju’s, which made a bid of Rs 125 crore.

The duration of the sponsorship is for 4.5 months i.e until December 31, which means that although the IPL would be played in the (UAE) from September to November, if for any reason the tournament needs further postponement, it would still be its title sponsor until the end of this year.

Dream11 is a fantasy sports platform based in India that allows users to play fantasy cricket, hockey, football, kabaddi, and basketball. It was founded by Harsh Jain (CEO) and Bhavit Sheth (COO), it has over 80 million users and is the first gaming startup from India to enter the unicorn club, an industry term for startups valued above $1 billion.

BCCI reschedule IPL : To be held in UAE from September 26 to November 7
Mumbai, Maharashtra: BCCI rescheduled IPL which is now going to be held in UAE from September 26 to November 7. Full Schedule will be out soon. After the postponement of T20 World Cup by International Cricket Council (ICC) which was going to be held in Australia due to Corona virus pandemic. IPL Governing council chairman Brijesh Patel announced that they are planning to reschedule 13th edition of Indian premier league(IPL) in UAE and are waiting for the government approval.
“We were waiting for the ICC to officially announce the postponement of IPL we have also written for permission with the Indian government. We will discuss the further course of action in IPL General Council.“Patel said.
“UAE had offered to host the Indian Premier League , now we will confirm them now” Patel added.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday confirmed the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup which was going to held in Australia 2020 has been postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 after this BCCI rescheduled IPL.
With this ICC releases the new dates for Men’s Cricket events:
- ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 , Venue: Not yet declared ,Start from :October – November 2021 with the final on 14 November 2021
- ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, Venue: Not yet declared, Start from: October – November 2022 with the final on 13 November 2022
- ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 , Venue : India , Start from :October – November 2023 with the final on 26 November 2023
According to IBC Board ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2021 which is going to be held in New Zealand in February next year will remain same as schedule .
